The Federal Parliament is back in session and we are back with our weekly Muslims in the House blog! We've just published our weekly edition for the two week period from September 18 – September 28!
This week’s edition covers the recognition of the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar and related revocation of the honorary Canadian citizenship of Aung San Suu Kyi, Canada/US free-trade negotiations and the irregular border crossings from the U.S.

Arson attack against Edmonton Mosque
MP Randy Boissonnault (Edmonton Centre, AB, Lib) and MP Jim Eglinski (Yellowhead, AB, Cons) made statements in house to express the solidarity of Albertans and Canadians with the Muslim community following an act of arson against the Edson mosque.

Canada-US Tariffs
Leader of the opposition, Andrew Scheer (Regina-Qu’Appelle, SK) stated that the Conservatives supported the government’s decision to retaliate to the American tariffs made against Canadian Aluminum and Steel workers, however did not understand why tariffs would only come into effect on July 1st, 2018 while American tariffs came into effect immediately.
